Perth Mint reports surge in silver demand for July

In July, silver coin and bullion sales reached the second-highest monthly figure on record, namely 2.46 million ounces, up 61.8% from June and 89.3% year-on-year. At the same time, the record still belongs to September 2015. Then 3.3 million ounces of silver were sold. So far in 2022, the Perth Mint has sold 13.9m ounces of silver, up 24.8 per cent year-on-year.

As for gold, the figure was 79.3 thousand ounces, which is 21.5% more than in June and 12.2% higher on an annualized basis. Demand has increased particularly in North America. So far in 2022, the Perth Mint has sold 585.3 thousand ounces of gold, 12.2% lower on an annualized basis.
